Where I’d like to go | The Brando

Travel has been on my mind in a big way lately.  I am itching to take a trip, particularly somewhere warm and that I’ve not been to yet.  When I was traveling often for work around the world, I started to feel as though the world is really small, but always that there is so much to see and experience, it can be overwhelming to get to it all.  There are places on this earth to visit that I am still learning about.

Yesterday I read about my ultimate next {dream} destination –  to an island located 30 miles northeast of Tahiti – Tetiaroa.  Made up of 12 islets only one of which will be the setting for a new resort and the 11 will remain uninhabited.  Tetiaroa is incredibly preserved and the priority for the Tahitians has been privacy and a focus on maintaining it’s preservation and and sanctuary for birds and marine life.

This destination is so stunning it was historically a holiday destination for Polynesian Royalty, and eventually an island that Marlon Brando fell in love with and bought.  For many years it was his private island and now the vision and wish he had for it is in the process of being realized.

Slated to open this summer is the Brando {named after Marlon Brando} is an EXCEPTIONAL combination of eco-friendly luxury.  A 35-villa all inclusive carbon neutral resort with an organic garden on property,  will utilize solar power,  coconut oil for fuel,  and a sea water air conditioning system.

The rates are structured as an all inclusive plan which includes:

• All meals + most beverages  {they will have 2 restaurants and two bars}
• An excursion per person each day from a list of options
• A 50-minute spa treatment each day for one person in each villa
• A bicycle, canoes, kayaks, paddleboards and snorkeling equipment

So you can really go and simply enjoy your surroundings and their locally inspired  cuisine.

Can you just envision yourself swimming in that water?!  SUCH purity – it would be quite the sanctuary to cleanse mind and body for a while.  This would also be an incredible honeymoon destination.

I don’t know about you but I will be dreaming of this destination for the rest of the day.  Not only is it an escape from the cold, but an inspiration for clean living – truly a special place on earth.

You can view a video about Tetriaroa and the inspiration behind the project here.
