thinking spring {showers}

Happy Friday lovelies,

I hope you’ve had a great week.  Earlier this week I had the privilege of hosting a panel about spring trends and how they intersect, or should I say – merge in the worlds of Fashion and Interior Design so closely.  It was on behalf of an organization called Fashion Group International which focuses on the business of fashion in Boston and was held at the beautiful & relatively new Room & Board store on Newbury Street.  I interviewed local fashion designer Luke Aaron and Interior Designer Justine Sterling, both of whom did an incredible job sharing their views on spring trends and how they apply to their current designs. There will be more coverage on the event in the Boston Globe on Sunday, but I have to tell you after doing some research in order to prepare my questions for the panel, I spent a great deal of time perusing Spring 2015 trends & runway shows in detail.

I came across and was intrigued by Hunter Boots’ stage set at London Fashion Week where models were sent down down a reflective catwalk, and a backdrop of psychedelic, underwater projections by visual artist Mat Maitland which was very cool and intriguing.  You can view the video here for the full effect of Mat’s designs.

In addition to the colorful & brilliantly interactive stage set design, I was impressed by their collection of mod prints and fringed rain boots for the upcoming season.  I’ve highlighted some of my favorites from their spring 2015 collection which are newly available {click directly on images for sources & links}.  They are a welcome sight on this cold January day and might just be a must add to my spring wardrobe this year.
