summer road trip!

Typically I have spent my summers traveling the globe for projects, however this summer my projects remain local and as a result I am taking the opportunity to spend the summer a bit more local during my down time – a welcome change for me.  A few girlfriends and I have finalized a trip to Montauk which I am really excited about {it’s been on my bucket list}. We plan on beaching, bike riding, perhaps even surfing as well as celebrating summer with some lovely al fresco meals and cocktails.

Part of the fun {or hassle} of traveling can be getting there. In this case it will be fun.  We are taking a road trip in a convertible for the majority of our journey – why not?  I’ve asked the girls for song requests as I am in the process of creating a playlist for our drive, and their only request was 80’s!   Here are some highlights for the playlist along with what I’ll be wearing for the ride.

1 | This striped shirt is made in France by Saint James. I love the fact that it is made of a polyamid microfiber which offers UV protection {the fabric wears well and does not wrinkle which is perfect for travel}.  It’s a classic and iconic design, so it’s worth the investment for this exceptional quality piece.

2 | A pair of Linda Farrow oversized tortoise shell sunglasses are a modern way to compliment this classic look.

3 | Royal blue sparkly studs by Kate Spade.

4 | This classic link bracelet  by J.Crew is a staple accessory.

5 | A scarf with a classic color pallette will always be there for you when it comes to accessorizing.  This Les Cannes pattern scarf by Hermès is perfect!

6 | This brown python leather sandal by Avec Moderation is a sandal I would live in for the weekend.

So tell me, as I work to create the perfect play list that’s fun and will get us dancing in our seats, do you have any favorites tunes that you would suggest adding to the list?
