Stuart Weitzman x You

Having worked in PR for a global shoe brand for a number of years, I have to say I am impressed and excited about a brilliant collaboration that Stuart Weitzman and his team launched yesterday {something that from a manufacturing process is a pretty big undertaking}, called Stuart Weitzman X You.

The premise of it is that you can create your own custom Corkswoon style –  you know the wedge heel style that Kate Middleton wears often?  That is in fact a Stuart Weitzman shoe, and the company has decided to take the success of this silhouette a step further by launching a ‘customize your own’ program for a limited time {until May 27th to be exact}.

It is a very easy process.  You simply select from a range of 15 different suede colors as well as the finish of the wedge {cork or rope}.

SW HEEL FINISHESI like the idea of a neutral as this to me is a great wardrobe basic for a comfortable, casual heel option {I chose ‘bisque’ which is the color above}. It also elongates the leg and I think the rope finish is cute for spring with skinny capris or skinny jeans.  Kate’s ‘nice blue’ suede color is great paired with skinny blue jeans as well.  While she would make any shoe look good, continuing the blue from a skinny jean through to the shoe definitely elongates the overall look.  There are fun colors as well if you like a bit more color in your step.

Nothing like having a part in creating your own shoes. You can click here to see the colors and play around with combinations for your own perfect #corkswoon style.  If you come up with a favorite, please share!

I agree Celine, the long-lead time is definitely a downside, however, I think worth it for a relatively custom pair. Keep us posted if you end up with your own design!! x
