Oscars fashion highlights | my top 5

Last night’s Oscars show was a combination of really incredible fashion and some not so exciting looks.  I felt as though the stars who stood out, really stood out and there were a lot of looks that were nice but not what I would have expected for THE Hollywood fashion event of the year.  For today’s post I thought I would focus on my favorite 5 looks of the evening.

My vote for THE best dressed of the night goes to Kate Hudson.  I absolutely loved her 40’s inspired look.  The dress by Atelier Versace, fit her beautifully and the draping in the back was breathtaking.  I also thought her hair and make-up were perfection and completed the look flawlessly.  She is an effortless and iconic Hollywood beauty.

Next I would say was Charlize Theron.  She always looks stunning and last night was no exception in her Christian Dior haute couture dress and perfectly paired necklace.

Third would be Cate Blanchett.  She never disappoints and represents quintessential Hollywood glamour.  This Armani Privé dress was beautiful on her and I equally love her earrings.

Fourth and perhaps unexpected would be Camilla Alves.  I thought she looked so regal and classic Hollywood in her Gabriela Cadena dress.  The color was a beautiful shade of pink that looked amazing on her.  Not an easy color to wear but it was gorgeous on her.  She looked like royalty last night.

Fifth and probably no surprise to any of you, is Lupita!  I have to say given her track record on the red carpet of topping her looks over and over, I wondered what she would wear that would be able to stand up to her previous looks in an Oscar-worthy way, and she nailed it.  According to her stylist, champagne bubbles, family heritage, and hollywood glamour were the inspiration behind the design of Lupita’s dress by Prada.  She looked beautiful and her accessories were perfect.  She not only delivered an eloquent acceptance speech, she was a class act for publicly crediting her stylist during her interview on the red carpet – nicely done Lupita.

Also worth mentioning, I thought Angelina Jolie looked absolutely beautiful last night.  I did not love her dress choice but I thought her hair, make-up {coral lipstick} and earrings were gorgeous. She was a radiant beauty on stage.

A big congratulations to all of last night’s winners and the teams that make their appearances happen.  I would love to know who your favorites were last night and what you thought of the fashion overall…

Happy Monday!
