This past weekend I went to a Moroccan restaurant for dinner in Boston and was quickly reminded of my trip to Morocco several years ago. There is something really magical about the bright colors, spice markets, tangines, stunning architecture, kind people, shopping in the souks and the smell of jasmine that lingers the streets that make this vivid memory a unique one.
A Moroccan theme always makes for a good event, the food options for this theme are unique to the region and in a league of their own. I love the idea of serving each guest their individual tagine… and the vibrant colors & gold accents are an excuse to go bold for a party. I came across this Moroccan themed dessert table via Amy Atlas’ blog which was created by Melbourne Australia based Styled by Belle, it reminded me of the bold colors and mosaic details from this special place.
The trays they used to present the macaroons and cookies are fabulous!
How stunning are these macaroons and cookies?
For a Moroccan party, I would also add belly dancers, tarot card readers and snake charmers for entertainment along with low seating on poufs in tents with stunning chandeliers.
I love these poufs from Serena & Lily, they come in all sorts of great colors with contrast stitch detailing and look great in almost any space. You can find them here.
I will say, while I like to go to new places rather than returning to previous destinations, I would definitely be happy to return to Morocco one day soon.
wishing you a happy wednesday!
