happy to be back

Hello loves,

Happy Friday!!  I am so happy to be back and blogging today! I was in New York this week for a class as well as some meetings for one of my clients.  New York is always so much fun and full of inspiration.  Everytime I am there I NEVER want to leave and feel that living there would be right for me, although I absolutely love my home and city – Boston.  I am {and have been for several years} truly torn between two cities.  One of the most interesting parts about this trip is that I spent some time in Williamsburg, which was new for me.  I loved it.  So many independent restaurants and boutiques, the neighborhood gives off an incredibly eclectic and artistic vibe with a sophistication that is understated, and feels slightly off the beaten path of Manhattan.

I had the opportunity to stay at the Wythe Hotel, which was really cool with an industrial- chic vibe.  Originally a textile factory on the Williamsburg waterfront, it is now a 70 room hotel with a rooftop bar and a restaurant that is casual with excellent food.  It would be safe to say that I have a new hotel crush!

They did a really good job of incorporating locally made products into their rooms.  One that stood out to me was Goldie’s bath products and soaps.  Based in Rockaway beach NY, they are organic, made of all natural ingredients and 100% free of parabens, preservatives, phthalates & formaldehyde.  You can tell when you use the products that they are not drying and have no artificial fragrance.  Not to mention the packaging is adorable!

I used the coriander hand soap and orange cypress lotion during my stay there and really liked them.  You can find the handsoap here and the lotion here.

The industrial and minimalistic décor in the hotel made for a very relaxing atmosphere, which was perfect for a quiet moment after long and busy days in NY!

  1. What a great post! I think I need a stay-cation in Williamsburg with my husband – this looks like the perfect spot! So nice to meet you at BlogShop – I see a little something familiar in the last image – Well done! I look forward to visiting here often.

Thank you Ridgley!! It was wonderful to meet you also and I wish all of my photos looked like the last one, but still working on my photoshop skills!! A stay-cation at the Whythe would be great for you, it is so chill. Looking forward to spending time on Ridgley’s Radar as well. Happy weekend to you!
