Well hello!

If you’ve visited my blog since Friday, you will see I am finally back in business.  After a frustrating glitch with wordpress my site was down for two days and then had a default design that looked nothing like POISE.  I am happy to be up and running again!  A BIG thank you to Jessica Sutton Design Group {who originally designed and built my site} and her team for helping me get things back on track so quickly!

Now onto today’s inspiration…
Figs are currently plentiful at the market which has me searching for recipes that incorporate them in an effort to enjoy them in a variety of ways.  They are known to be incredibly dense in minerals and they contain one of the highest concentrations of calcium of any food.

Here are some great recipes that I have encountered to help integrate this mineral rich little treasure into la cuisine.

1 | I tried this barley, chicken and fig recipe last week.  It was really good.  I substituted the barley for quinoa and added a handful of fresh chives and parsley for added flavor.  It’s a nice combination of flavors and you can easily make a meal out of it.
2 | champagne and fig bubbly!  so simple yet so lovely to kick-off a fall or even holiday dinner.
3 | this cleansing kale, and fig salad with avocado dressing by In the Kitchen with Amy Jo is perfect if you want a clean meal and a break from a not so healthy diet.  It is loaded with nutritional value.
4 | Pizza with fresh figs, ricotta, thyme and honey, yes please!
