farmer’s market friday

Let me just start by saying TGIF!!

This past week has been quite the whirlwind {albeit a good one}.  Have you had a crazy week too? Once I finish this post I am stepping away to make a cozy dinner, pour a glass of wine and celebrate the weekend’s arrival.

Today I was able to stop by the farmer’s market on my way back from a meeting.  This time of year it is so abundant with color and variety.  Here are some highlights from my quick visit.  Lots of tomatoes and peppers this time of year as well as the introduction of squash.  I was so inspired by the flowers this week, that I treated myself to some to add a bit of beauty to my living room through some late summer blooms.

There was also an abundance of fresh herbs.  I picked some up as I plan to make this fresh herb pasta recipe tonight. A mixture of fresh herbs, shallot, fennel fronds and EVOO are all you need to make this delicious dish.  I’ve made it many times before and it is always a hit.  You can serve it warm or cold as a pasta salad…

As for tonight, it will be served warm with a lovely red wine.
