channeling a winter escape

So it is that time of year when the holidays are over, yet it is still winter and cold outside – and on some days dark and grey in Boston.  The next 8 weeks are a perfect time for a winter escape.  The best time of year to leave if you are a New Englander {in my opinion}, take a break from the cold and cleanse the mind body and soul as we embark on a new year.

The last few days I have been dreaming of a winter escape to a place with sun, sand and sea.  For me I am thinking an escape to an Ashram for yoga and vegan meals in the Bahamas for a few days would be just enough of a break, we’ll see if I am able to make it happen.  If so, here is about what I would pack in addition to of course to my mat, a bathing suit and a great book.

a winter escape

1  | a summer bright pink jasper statement necklace {this color is amazing}!
2  | an effortless day-to-night maxi dress {also great beach cover-up or travel piece with a denim jacket over it}
3  | a high protection sunscreen  – this is my go to.
4  | a stylish pair of shades
5  | a comfortable no brainer high quality sandal
6  | a silk/cashmere neutral scarf for evenings by the sea + a great wardrobe staple
7  | a raffia tote, perfect for travel and daytime looks all summer long
8  | a way to keep toiletries organized for in-flight travel in this beautiful + functional travel case by Anya Hindmarch
9  | keep things simple on holiday, especially when it comes to make-up.  you can consolidate with this RMS coconut oil organic based lip2 cheek creme that serves as a nourishing lip gloss or creme blush.  {not to mention it is an organic and nurturing cosmetic for everyday use}
10| where a winter escape for me is somewhat of a cleansing process, I like the idea of a beautiful neutral color for a pedicure.  This Rive shade by LVX  is perfect.  I love how their polishes are formulated without the use of formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, DBP, toluene, and camphor, they are also vegan-friendly, while maintaining a luxury quality.
11 | always in my travel bag and perfect after a day in the sun, travel size organic virgin coconut oil for your body – available in a variety of scents.  I like the lavender and green tea scents but am moving onto the rose scent for my refill.

Do you have any favorite winter escape destinations or better yet escape plans to share or that you would recommend?

Happy weekend!
