bring on the rain!

happy rainy cold weekend!

It’s the type of weather this weekend to stay in, make a nice warm soup and curl up on the couch under a cozy blanket. It is the weekend however, so I plan to finish a few house projects and then like most of you {I would imagine}, will continue on with social engagements as planned.  It’s all about dressing for the weather rather than fighting it – you learn this the hard way as a New Englander.  On this cold rainy day, I’ve put together a look around a raincoat I’ve been eyeing for a while, I saw a similar one in New York three years ago and didn’t buy it and have thought about it ever since. I love the look of it, combined with relatively classic staples and edgy accessories.  This look is perfect for Sunday brunch, a cozy dinner at a neighborhood restaurant or simply running around in the rain.  Once I know I am dressed for the elements I say bring it on!

POISE | bring-on-the-rain

1 | biker rain jacket
2 | back zip skinny pant by J.Crew {on sale}, I also love the fit of these by Madewell, incredibly flattering {and very much on sale}
3| one of the best basics ever in my opinion.  I live in my black wool tippi sweater by J.Crew this time of year.
4 | how fabulous is this ring by Kelly Wearstler?
5 | I love these cone earrings by Eddie Borgo.  They can be worn with the silver side facing out or the howlite side facing out.  Edgy and 2 different styles with 1 pair {great to travel with for that reason}
6 | Hunter rain boots are classic and last for years.  I have black rain boots which I love but I equally love the silver.
7 | I have fully converted to 5-free nail polishes {learn more about 5-free here}.  Too many great options not to, and I refuse to compromise my health with the old stuff now that I know there are far better options.  Jin Soon came out with this lavender/grey shade that I am loving as a fall/winter neutral.
8 | I don’t wear hair spray daily but when it rains I do use this one by Oribe, paraben free, and super light to keep the frizz away on rainy and humid days.  Still leaves your hair feeling soft. Also available in travel size.

enjoy your weekend, and stay dry!!
