book love | Valentino: At the emperor’s table

A good coffee table book that touches on your a personal passion of yours is priceless to have in your home and makes for a priceless gift.  A friend of mine who knows me very well gifted me with Valentino’s newest book Valentino: At The Emporer’s Table recently.  The book is newly released and features photographs by Oberto Gili and an introduction by André Leon Talley. It shows Valentino in his home, his tablescapes, and his surroundings while sharing some of his favorite recipes.  This book is a domestic goddess/fashionista/event designer’s dream!  It is of significant size so it makes quite an impression, and the photography is quite beautiful.

The chapters are organized by location, featuring each of his properties in Gstaad, London, New York & Wideville along with tables capes and recipes from his boat {T.M. Blue One}.

Recipes such as a mushroom risotto {with porcini & chanterelle mushrooms}, goat cheese flan with tomato petals, blueberry sorbet and an amazing fish stew are amongst some of of my favorites and you can find a few tempting recipes in each chapter with detailed photos.

I’ve perused it several time and am looking forward to sitting down and reading it cover to cover this weekend!
