A Savory/Sweet Holiday Treat

Hello and Happy Friday!!

So as you embark on your weekend you will undoubtedly engage in some holiday festivities one way or another.  I came across this fabulous Chocolate Pecan Rosemary bark on the beautiful blog Camille Style’s.

There is something about the rich taste of dark chocolate {or milk chocolate if you prefer} combined with pecans and savory rosemary, with a hint of salt that sounds delicious!  This would be perfect to make as a dessert if you are entertaining, or as a hostess gift.  It would even make great teacher’s, hairdresser’s, or dog walker’s gifts when packaged nicely.

Here is how to make this loveliness {the ingredients are relatively simple and the preparation is not too time consuming which is fabulous for this time of year}:

  • 16 ounces milk chocolate chips {or use 16 ounces of your favorite chocolate bar –  I was brought up on Lindt which was always used in my mother’s to-die-for chocolate mousse because it’s so smooth so that would be my favorite}
  • 4 ounces 100% cocoa unsweetened baking bar
  • 1 cup pecan halves, toasted
  • Sea salt, to taste {I might actually substitute with fleur de del on this one}
  • fresh rosemary
  • finely shredded unsweetened coconut, as desired
  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper; Set aside.
  2. Gently melt the chocolate according to the (brand) packaging using the stovetop or microwave method.
  3. Spoon the melted chocolate over the parchment paper.
  4. Spread the chocolate in a 1/4-inch layer.
  5. Evenly sprinkle the desired pecans and rosemary over the chocolate edge to edge.
  6. Using the back of a spoon, gently push the pecans down to make sure each piece has adhered to the chocolate.  Lightly dust with salt and shredded coconut.
  7. Place the baking sheet in the freezer for 20 minutes until firm.
