a pretty edge

One of the more prominent reflections on a host for their event is the invitation.  I always emphasize this with my clients as I believe whether the invitation is from a couple or a brand, it is the first mirror for the gathering which reflects your appearance, taste and to some extent, character.   There is so much that can go into the design process, from the paper to the font and print method to reflect a personal style.  I am always looking at new ways to help bring my clients’ aesthetics to life.

I just finished a design that incorporates edging to help bring a clients seasonal accent color to the piece in a subtle yet striking way.  I wanted the piece to be a reflection of the brand but also tell the seasonal story.   The brand colors were used on the invitation itself which are grey and we used varying textures,  and then used the seasonal accent color {scarlet red} for the edge.  It came out really beautiful and I promise I will share it with you soon {we just mailed them out yesterday so I don’t want to spoil the surprise for the guests}.

Here are some other lovely examples of invitation or business card edging.  Depending on the overall design you can go with a with a gilded/metallic edge or simply bring in a color accent.

  1. You’re right! The edging really does add something special to the cards! Can’t wait to see what you designed.
