a few of my favorite things | September

Wow, Fall is here!  Fashion week in NY has come and gone, Fashion Week Boston is kicking off tonight {you can learn more about the events and access tickets here}, and just like that we are more than half way through September.  Today, I am sharing some of my favorite things of the moment.  In addition to Fall fashions, this transitional season inspires me entertain at home more often especially as we approach the holidays. It’s also the perfect time for hot tea drinks and cozy cashmere sweaters.

1 |  I love this quote by entertaining maven Ina Garten. When you entertain, setting a lively, fun and welcoming environment for guests is key.  It’s more than the food and the menu, it’s the ambience, the music and your ability to enjoy your own party.  Do whatever you have to do before your guests arrive to minimize the work while they are there.

2 | This dress is on my fall must have list.  It is simple, but I love the lace-up detail, the color and that it can transition beautifully from day to night.

3 | I recently designed this tablescape for a festive company dinner event.  I went with a black and white theme with gold accents.  While you can’t see them very well in this photo {I don’t claim to be a professional photographer}, there were gold accents on the personalized menus and vases to add some glamour to the palette and bring it all together.  I liked it so much, that I am considering a similar concept for my Thanksgiving table, but with deep chocolate brown, white and gold accents.

4 | I am loving all of the gold statement pieces this Fall season.  These booties work with so many looks from dresses to skinny pants, I love that they would make an outfit.

5 | I am very much a tea drinker, and in the winter months, I am always looking for fun new latte recipes to make with tea.  This shisho and hibiscus tea latte by dolly and oatmeal, is stunningly beautiful and the ingredients are divine.  It would make for a lovely afternoon treat.

6 | I am always looking to perfect my wardrobe basics.  I love this modern cashmere tunic.  With a legging and bootie, you have yourself an easy look that’s super cozy yet sporty and I consider this a fabulous basic.

Wishing you a beautiful September {what remains of it}, and a cozy Fall filled with all of things that warm your heart.
