a few of my favorite things | September

Happy end of summer, happy September!

I hope you all had beautiful long weekends and that you are feeling refreshed as we move into a new season.  From the look of my favorite things for the month, you would think I am in some sort of retro mood with a mustard yellow font, Tom Dixon Pendants and leopard print detail on the cards below!!  What I am inspired by this month is holding on to every last minute of summer, the launch of Fashion Week in New York and an installation I am working on for a special project featuring lots of gold accent details.

POISE | a few of my favorite things | September14

1 | Tomato season is still here and Sweet Paul has come up with another brilliant tart recipe.  This one has an almond & pepper crust and a basil oil.  I am making this in mini versions with a fresh salad as a dinner starter for an upcoming dinner party, and will substitute the ricotta for mozarrella.

2 | These pendants are so much fun! They would be perfect for an installation I am working on for an event.  They also would make an amazing statement in a home.  Designed by Tom Dixon with a highly reflective shade {inspired by the space helmet} they come in various sizes and in either gold or silver.

3 | These sweet fashion illustration correspondence cards by french photographer, illustrator and style blogger Garance Doré,  would make perfect post-fashion week thank you notes or make for a thoughtful little gift.

4 | This low bun is simple but will always look elegant.  It was a style used on the models during Ralph Lauren’s Spring 2013 fashion show and I love the look of it even for a casual Saturday.

5 | Have you started thinking about your Fall wardrobe yet?  I am not going crazy this year but I do need to update a few key basics.  This merino wool sweater is on my list for Fall to pair with skinny leather pants.

Happy, happy September,
