a few of my favorite things | July

What a summer it has been in Boston!  If you live here, you know we’ve had little rain and a lot of heat.  Given our winters, I am not complaining.  I’ve been both trying to enjoy the summer but also get some projects done {especially during the very hot days}, particularly around my home focusing on purging things I am no longer using and making some minor design updates.  This month I am inspired by recipes filled with fresh ingredients, items for my home and of course summer fashion.

1| I crave this salad by GOOP often.  The dressing is bursting with flavor with ginger and scallions and the salad itself is filling while loaded with fresh vegetables and cilantro.  Because I love fresh ginger I double the quantity  that is specified in the recipe, and will occasionally add grilled shrimp or chicken if I make it for dinner.  I also add freshly grated turmeric for its health benefits. {p.s. kids love it too!}

2 | This is the ultimate hostess gown.  I love the way Blair Eadie from Atlantic-Pacific styled it, and I think it would be an incredible piece to own for dinner parties and long summer al fresco celebrations.  Quintessential effortless glamour.

3 | One of the edits I am making in my home, is to create a dressing area in my bedroom that was formerly a small office.  I need a light fixture and love this coral inspired pendant.

4 | I can’t get away from large round sunglasses.  I love them.  These mirrored sunglasses with a thin tortoise rim by Prada, are a great way to update the look.  I also love how on the NM website, you can shop for sunglasses by the shape of your face.  Wondering what style is most complementary to your face?  They have organized their assortment in such a way that maps it out for you which is so helpful.

5 | This art evokes a feeling of freedom to me – and that makes me happy.  I am considering purchasing it for my bathroom.

6| Everyone needs one of these.  A bluetooth speaker with incredible sound.  I use it all the time for events and am adding the white version to my  own home for a modern, simplified sound source.

Wishing you many more happy summer days {and nights}!
