a few of my favorite things | april

Happy April 1st!

A new month, and a new season – Spring.  This means opportunity and newness are in-store for all of us {such a wonderful feeling}.  I have to say I am happy to see April.   You can probably tell by my board that I am gravitating towards a bit of color {aren’t we all this time of year?} and this month it seems to be pink.  Here are a few of my favorite things of the moment…

a few of my favorite things | april

1 | I am hosting Easter again this year and have been working on my tablescape design.  I think I’ve landed on this dinnerware collection made in Japan for the accent plate.  I absolutely love the beautiful ombre-esque pink balanced with a lot of white.  Beautiful for spring tablescapes.

2 | This necklace by nest is on my wish list.  The pink is subtle enough where it is relatively neutral and would look amazing with all white or all black during spring and summer.

3 | This little gem first birthday party featured on Style Me Pretty last week is precious!! If you have a little girl, this is one you must see.  The dessert table is so well designed.  Notice the little gems filled with candy on either side of the cake given as favors – adorable.  You can view more photos for this noteworthy party here.

4 | Bliss & Bone has done it again with this leather and letterpress invitation.  Not only are their invitations and menu designs amazing, the materials they use are exceptional, and absolutely make a statement.  I always emphasize the importance of an invitation for an event with clients, it sets the tone for not only the event, but brand or individual.  This would be perfect for a brand launching a new leather collection!!  Also suitable for a rehearsal dinner – can you imagine receiving an invitation that looks like this?  Gorgeous!!

5 | Lace never goes out of style and this crocheted cotton-lace top is a great top to wear out to dinner or an evening event.  The detailing along the bottom is what makes it.  There is a skirt as well that is equally beautiful.  I would not wear them together, however pairing the skirt with a plain black fitted top or the top with a fitted black pant would make for an elegant evening look.
